The new Tiburtina high-speed train station project wins the 2002 Eurosolar award Eurosolar 2002 as esexample of bioclimatic architecture for the solution given to a particularly complex and important urban service node for the city of Rome and for the impact on public opinion and users with the aim of creating a growing awareness in the useor bioclimatic solutions and innovative solar energy technologies.

Formed by four partners trained in Rome - Maria Laura Arlotti, Michele Beccu, Paolo Desideri, Filippo Raimondo - the ABDR studio is an example of an international office of contemporary architecture on the Italian scene. Since 1982, the work has been articulated on many overlapping levels. From the commitment to the design interpretation of the infrastructure, in the dialogue with engineering and the ability to meet the technological challenge, to the urban dimension of the actions on the contemporary city resolved through the architectural scale, to the interventions on the theme of the public building, to the attention to the delicate relationship between new and old, each project deals with increasingly complex occasions. This volume documents the most significant episodes of this great body of work and constructs the first complete registry of projects and works from over thirty years, from the foundation of the studio to the present day. Dario Costi rereads and orders these materials, bringing reflection on the themes underlying the architectures, investigating the links between theoretical reflection and design experimentation induced by the permanent critical dialogue with the contemporary city in its complexity and construction. An essay by Claudia Conforti reconstructs and contextualises the intellectual and professional vicissitudes of the four partners from their youthful years in Rome to the international affirmation of our days.

The promotional event, with the theme Energy of the Future, will take place in Astana from 10 June to 10 September 2017. The Italian Pavilion for theExpo of Astana 2017 is designed to offer visitors an engaging spatial experience in which the values and concepts of History, Ingenuity, Creativity and Natural Resources are mixed in a tradition that has always seen our country at the forefront.
Paolo Desideri will participate, as rapporteur, at Structural Engineers World Congress (SEWC) that will be held in Bangalorein India, 13 to 15 July 2017 cwith the illustration of recent projects of the ABDR study.
The proposal submitted starts from the substantial agreement of the lines of intervention contained in the preliminary draft tender, in the desire to give priority first and foremost to the protection of the architectural asset undergoing transformation, with a view to its protection and valorisation, and respecting the balance between innovation and conservation.
With the vernissage of the exhibition 'Van Gogh Alive - The Experience', 5 December 2018, the New Margherita Theatre in Bari officially open to the public in its renovated shape, after two intensive years of completion, functional restoration and enhancement. With the completion of the works and the integration of the stage and lighting equipment, the Margherita Theatre will be able to fully return culturally active in the city of Bari, under the 'Contemporary Pole', strongly desired by the Municipal Administration and Councillor Hon. S. Maselli.
